BROOMSTRAW

“And didn’t she take a straw and check to see if the cake was done. Didn’t I see her do that? It’s witchcraft is what it is. How in all of nature can a broom straw predict if a cake is done.”

“There’s dough on the straw if the cake is not done. It’s a testing is all.”

“Science then and what’s worse… But I still think it witchcraft. The cake tasted of strawberries and honeycomb and it the middle of winter. And she divined it with a broom straw.”

Water: Cleansing and Empowerment

WATER: Cleansing and Empowerment

Water changes the electrical charge of your skin. And the water must be cold. As the water gets lukewarm, it begins to lose its charge and when the water is hot, it is worthless for this purpose. According to occultists, Franz Bardon, however, even hot water will suffice if you mentally charge the water for the purpose intended.

Water attracts and holds an influence. The colder the water, the greater its accumulative capacity. It is most responsive at 39 degrees F or 4 degrees C. It is good up to 43 degrees F.

When water is lukewarm, its receptivity diminishes. Between 97-99F (36-37C) it becomes neutral to magnetism.

In his book, Initiation into Hermetics, Franz Bardon explains that you can impregnate the water with a desire, no matter what the temperature. Even a piece of bread, he says, (as well as hot soup or cup of coffee or tea can be loaded and charged magically). This charge doesn’t depend on the accumulative capacity of the watery element. It takes place through the fifth power (spirit -- akasha) and is brought about by the electro magnetic fluid of the elements concerned.

We need to stop and think about this difference. When we work magic, we need to understand what we are doing, whether using thought to initiate the charge or using the actual elements and what is inherent in them.

Franz notes this difference with this example:

"It is impossible to magnetize a dish of hot soup. The accumulating power of the watery element, by the expansion of the heat present in the water, is balanced or increased. The soup, however, can be impregnated with the corresponding desire [by your thought-charge]."

Franz says: “Every time you wash your hands, think intensely that, by washing, you wipe the dirt off your body, and also the “uncleanliness” of your soul. Failure, trouble, dissatis-faction, illness is washed off and turned over to the water. Concentrate on the magneto-astral attractive force drawing all weaknesses out of your body and away from your life,” Franz says. "Be firmly convinced that all failures are passing into the water. You’ll be surprised at the success of this exercise after a very short time.”

(Throw this water away at once, so that no one else comes into contact with it. If you use a wash-bowl (as I do for the washing rite), don't forget to throw the water out and wash the bowl. Swirl the water in a counter-clockwise direction before pouring it onto the ground.)

You can also magnetize water for use in drawing to you those things which you desire. You must remain convinced that through washing, the power will pass INTO your body and the desire be realized.!!!

Pay attention to this simple spell. You can wash away negativity with the water from one bowl and use another bowl of water charged with your thought-energy to draw into you what you want to manifest.

You can get creative here. Charge the water for healing or empowerment. Use stones, herbs or chants to help you create the effect you want to create. Speaking your intent out loud often enhances the effectiveness of a working such as this.

Other methods of  Cleansing and Clearing

Certain herbs are used to cleanse and define the akashic principle of the air around you. It's like "dog-away" you might spray on your favorite couch. It creates a vibrational level that is unlovely to certain entities and energies.

Sage re-weaves the air. Cinnamon helps your mind create a safe-zone. Salt soaks up the harmful vibrations (and have you ever seen what it can do to a slug?)

And what's in the air that needs rearranging? Hmmm....

When you light a candle, metaphorically speaking, there are sometimes curious others who want to see what's going on. That's one reason to create sacred space first. If the vibrational level is too high for the nasties, they won't come around.

Also, you are entering a different perspective, a different level of awareness when you are preparing for magical work. You need to clear away the mundane what-ifs and worries and one good way is with the help of plant energies and scents.

Sometimes a place needs cleared of collected thoughtforms, small clouds of energy created by those who have inhabited the place. If there has been an argument, for instance, make sure you cleanse the place to rid the atmosphere of the residue.

Like attracts like. If you raise the vibrational rate of the area, then only those energies and entities of a high vibration will collect there.

Sage should be in your first aid kit. Salt should be there too. You can even create a safe circle with salt if needed.

Tar water will clean a really nasty place. This water is made with soot. You can get soot from your chimney if you burn wood or you can get it by burning a lamp with the flame high and then cleaning the globe into your purified water.

Speaking of water.... you can make holy water that can be used to cleanse any area. It is cleansed of all impurities (by thoughtpower) and then charged under the full moon.
